FAQs

Straight Answers

The questions winery owners ask us most — and the honest answers.
How Much Inventory Can You Move?
Placements range from single pallets to multi-pallet programs to full container loads, depending on the right opportunity. We scale to fit your situation, not the other way around.
Why Not Just Use a Distributor?
Because distributors aren't built for this problem, once inventory enters the distribution system, you lose control of where it goes and how it's priced. Discounts become visible. They surface on Wine-Searcher. They create pricing conflicts across your accounts — and once a lower price is in the market, distributors tend to expect it on future releases as well. The MatadorVino Method™ operates entirely outside that system. Inventory moves. Your pricing stays off the public record.
Will My Brand Be Exposed?
No. That's the foundation of everything we do. Our buyer network operates outside of publicly tracked pricing platforms. Transactions don't surface on Wine-Searcher or similar channels. We are deliberate about which buyers see which opportunities — and how those wines are positioned and marketed within each channel. Your brand's integrity in your core markets is never compromised.
Who Will Actually Be Buying My Wine?
Buyers within our curated network — subscription and private wine clubs, on-premise and hospitality groups, direct-to-consumer email marketers, grocery and large-format retail, and independent brick-and-mortar accounts. Every buyer in our network is vetted. We know how they operate, where the wine will appear, and how it will be marketed. We only make introductions that make sense for both sides.
How Long Does the Process Take?
It depends on the volume, price point, and channel fit. Some placements move within days. Others take a few weeks to match the right buyer at the right terms. We don't rush placements at the expense of price or brand protection — but we move with urgency because we understand the financial pressure behind every conversation. Payment to the supplier takes place 45-60 days once the buyer picks up the inventory
Do You Work with Imported Wines?
Yes. We work with imported wines warehoused in the U.S., including selections from France, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and beyond. If the wine is on U.S. soil and the situation fits, we can help.
Do You Work with Spirits and Other Beverages?
Yes. While wine is our primary focus, we work with distillers and other beverage suppliers facing similar inventory challenges. The same principles apply — discreet channels, market-driven pricing, brand protection.
What Do You Need from Us to Get Started?
A conversation. We'll want to understand the wine volume, pricing structure, brand sensitivity, and timeline. From there, we can give you an honest assessment of what the market will likely support and how we'd approach it. There's no cost to the initial conversation and no obligation to proceed.
